RICHARD PETTIT. He is a well known and collected Hawaiian artist, based in Oahu. He was the featured artist for 8 of the 13 Maui Art Expo's with sold out shows. Unwrapping his paintings at each expo was like Christmas I couldn't wait to see what he had painted. Known for his bright & playful marine paintings, the Maui collectors would line up at opening nights to see the paintings and rush to get first pick. His work is perfect in a contemporary beach house setting or a traditional home.

Over dinner, some of the men laughed when I told them of my boyhood desires to be like them... It seems that they found life aboard the ship not quite as glamorous as it looked on TV... Their dreams?
