STEPHEN SCHLANSER
Stephen Schlanser is a Southern Californian who embodies the region's cultural advantage of fostering creative leaps. His passion for the moment has taken his from racing motorcycles, a modeling career, engaging as a Tri-athlete and operating a successful glass studio to experimenting in acrylic, oil painting, and sculpting. He also found time to travel to Europe, collect exotic botany, and remodel several homes.
While the glass studio has captured his attention unlike anything else, he will remain an artisan at heart who invents through experimentation. Stephen gets involved with his medium in a hands-on approach. The creative process being a constantly evolving experience with ever changing results. He remains inspired to continue to look at the world in a new way.
His Pasadena Studio is an inventive hub of the many kiln-slumped glass vases, platters, and bowls that are known today throughout the United States. Each piece is carefully shaped, polished and ground, and embellished with sand-carved designs before it is signed and dated. The studio is currently a supplier to the White House. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II calls a Schlanser bowl her own.
Other recipients and collectors include Benjamin Netanyahu, Hu Jintao of China, President Aquino of the Philippines, President V. Putin, former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Oprah Winfrey, Quentin Tarantino, and Bill Cosby among others. Corporate commissions include Cisco Systems, Intel, Volvo, Lexus, Toyota, Hyundai, Coca Cola, Crystal Cruises, Tournament of Roses, and many more.
Vessels by Schlanser is a new introduction of a series of one of a kind Vessels designed by Stephen Schlanser. They are part of the handcrafted Art Glass Collection created at the California based studio.

Rumi was a poet, philosopher and mystic of Islam. He was born on September 30, 1207 in the city of Balkh , Persia at that time. His doctrine advocates unlimited tolerance, positive reasoning, goodness, charity and awareness through love. To him and his disciples all religions are more or less true. Looking with the same eye on Muslim, Jew, Buddhist and Christian alike, his peaceful and tolerant teaching has appealed to men and women of all sects and creeds.
